Dr. John R. Ellington, Jr. is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist at Watson Clinic, which he joined in 1978. A fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, his specialties are gynecology, female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery. A member and vice chairman of the Watson Clinic Board of Directors, he also serves as the clinic’s physician risk manager. Dr. Ellington holds a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from the University of Georgia Pharmacy School and a medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia. He completed an internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Alabama Medical Center, University Hospital in Birmingham, where he also served as an instructor. He is a member of the Rho Chi Pharmacy Honor Society, the Charles E. Flowers Gynecologic Society, the South Central OB-GYN Society and the Association of Gynecologists/Laparoscopists.
