Dr. Victor Nwakakwa is board certified in gastroenterology. He performs routine and advanced gastroenterology procedures such as colonoscopy, upper endoscopy, Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangio Pancreatography (ERCP), Endoscopic Ultra-Sound (EUS) and Endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR). Dr. Nwakakwa has published a number of articles in medical journals and has co-authored chapters in several gastroenterology textbooks. He earned a medical degree from the University of Ibdadan, Nigeria, and completed a Gastroenterology Fellowship Program at the Wythenshawe Teaching Hospital in Manchester, England. He completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA, and a fellowship in gastroenterology at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC. He then worked as a clinical instructor in gastroenterology at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville. He has worked at Watson Clinic since 2002.
